Latest Team Report
Mundon Vics 0 Great Bradfords FC 5
A windy day in Maldon saw the Red and Blacks walk away with all three points and a clean sheet.
An early chance fell to Bradfords within 5 minutes of the first whistle, after a strong start of possession and working forward to the greens box the ball was paced perfectly past the Mundon full back for Nathan Postill to run on to and slot home. A perfect start for Bradfords seeking a repeat of the home fixture against Vics.
A dominat display continued for Holland’s side as Craig Bailey found the net not long after our first cementing the dominance early on. A few missed chances saw Bradfords with opportunities gone by to be out of sight within 20 minutes before what was on to be a harder second half as the wind picked up. Continued possession and excellent play as worked on the training ground saw the routines put in to action as James Shearer rose to meet Stefan Gray’s perfect cross to give GBFC a three goal advantage.
Half time approached with the reds looking comfortable and with very little threat to our goal displayed. Pressure from the side continued and was again rewarded for Craig Bailey as he netted another for a brace on the day.
As expected the game fell harder after half time, some niggly challenges from both sides coming in as the frustration grew for the home side and as the wind grew stronger the game turned from the football Mundon had tried to play in the first half to a lot of long ball tactics. Bradfords continued their attempts after the break still looking dangerous and saw Jack Medland turn and hit one home after 20 minutes of the restart, a dubious offside decision saw the goal disallowed. Woe was not of Medland though as with 10 minutes to go he got his reward as deserved and and put Bradfords 5-0 to the good.
A good game from the Red and Blacks and rewards gained, next we meet Haver Town Reserves at the Bell in Division Three.
