Dunmow United Panthers 2 Great Bradfords Saints 7
A poor first half from a lackadaisical Saints side saw us 2-0 down to the bottom of the league Dunmow United. Despite the first goal dubiousness the Saints continued before Panthers scored a well worked second. The Saints looked lost for much of the half unsure how we were finding our way back into the fixture and never troubling the Dunmow goal. 3 minutes before the whistle a well placed ball into George McAiney before a slotted shot found its way past the Dunmow Number 1 and into the bottom corner to see us in at half time 2-1 down.
The reds understood the task ahead after a half time dress down to remind them that previous wins mean nothing unless they are built upon and these are not points they can afford to lose. Captain Brooklyn took the team back to the field with determination and motivation exactly what is needed from a leader and he gave it in spades equalising for the Saints to get us back on track.
As we broke through the deadlock we found Bradley Elsey Seaman nestling his hatrick in quick succession to see the Saints take a confident lead. The Saints peppered the Dunmow goal for the remainder of the game with a strong attack at all times, Ardy saw his effort from close range after a scamble end in the back of the net to hit 6-2. The Saints remained dominant in the second half as the final whistle drew closer before Felmarks deflected shot fell back to him to power home, eruption on the sideline as our secret weapon finally found himself with a goal to reward his excellent effort since joining the saints.
Very much a game of two halves and not one that was great for the managers heart but a win is a win and we move on to the next fixture a third fixture of the year against Hatfield Peverel Harriers as we welcome them to Blackmore End.

Hatfield Peverel Harriers 0 Great Bradfords Saints 4
The run keeps on going! A first clean sheet of the season for the Saints saw them cement a place in the League Cup Semi Final for the first time. An incredible display sees this team absolutely deserve that spot!
The Saints were prepared for a tough match after going down 4-3 to Harriers in the Away League fixture in November. The first half came as we expected against the win thanks to the toss of the coin and with an onslaught from a speedy Harriers front line. The Saints held strong with excellent defensive displays from Full Backs Oliver and Sonny to keep the pacey forwards out. Kodi, Riley, Harry and Jamie standing firm in newer positions for each of them to keep the score at 0-0 for half time. The Saints had their chances in the first 35 but the defensive display was the story of the half.
Back to the centre to start the second half after a team talk that saw the lads spur each other on to get the job done. An excellent play through the middle saw a Bradfords attack on, Levi found himself with limited space just outside the Harriers box but tuned and got his shot away blind sighting the Blues keeper. 1-0 to the Saints with the wind in our favour but that did not stop Hatfield Peverel who continued to attack as we held strong with more defensive displays shining through. A corner to Bradfords saw us hope for a second for it to be put straight in from the dead ball by resident wonder goal scorer Cody Cropton Joyce! 2-0 and flying with confidence Ardy Shala was introduced only to score his first goal of the season within 30 seconds of arriving on the pitch after a fumble of feet in the box. Finally the game seemed comfortable for the Saints before one more break away down the right hand side for Brad saw him net another to add to his tally this season.
Excellent team display from the lads and outstanding performance to see Harley earn his first clean sheet of the season – the way he has been playing I wouldn’t be surprised to see many more! Oustanding from every player and we cannot ask for more! Same again this weekend as we meet Harriers for the final time this season in the reverse of the 4-3 defeat we suffered – let us right that wrong!

Ravens Youth Soarers 2 Great Bradfords Saints 3
What a game for the Saints first match back. The last time we met Ravens Youth we found ourselves 3-0 down with 15 minutes played before winning 5-3. This time the Saints came out determined to not let the game get the better of them and were on the front foot from the start.
A neat ball forward from the back saw Cody Cropton Joyce take on the defensive line within 10 minutes slotting under the keepers arm for an early lead. The game continued in a strong form for Bradfords as the Red and Black army powered forward. Peppering the Ravens goal was the order of the first half before a break attack saw Ravens equalise 1-1. Before half time the Saints saw themselves back in front as Brad took the line by storm slotting home for the Saints.
Half time came at a poor time for the Saints who held all the confidence knowing a win was important for their chances this season. 10 minutes in to the second half and a neat pass through to Brad from Kodi saw the Saints captain and man of the match for the day Brooklyn Parker saw the best goal of the day from a neat play with his second in command.
A stop in play due to the referee’s watch issue did not help the Saints as they were found on the back foot suddenly and back to 3-2 losing the more comfortable 2 goal cushion. A quick reaction saw Brad power through and shoot across goal to make the game 4-2 but a shocking call from the line saw the goal ruled offside despite Harry coming from behind the pass and touching the ball after it had gone past the line – win some you lose some and luck wasn’t on our side with that call!
The Saints held defiant with excellent jobs from the defence with Max, Kodi and Brooklyn taking control to protect the win. Great game play from the Saints before two more tough weeks meeting Hatfield Peverel – top of the table – twice in two weeks!
