TK Eagles 2 Great Bradfords FC 11

Great Bradfords FC romped home in style with an 11-2 victory over traditional rivals TK Eagles.

The match started slow for Bradfords with question marks from the sideline about the performance we were giving. TK Eagles on the front foot and a concerning outlook for Bradfords as they took an early chance to make it 1-0. Bradfords were in much need of a wake up or risked a long day in Tiptree!

30 minutes in and we saw a once in a lifetime overhead kick from Leon Griffin beat the TK Keeper to revive a stale GBFC! On the stroke of half time Luke Jones found his way through the TK back line to make it 2-1. A much needed half time for Bradfords.

Revitalised and ready to cement some chances and take games in hand on the top teams seriously the lads took to the field in emphatic style! 5 minutes in and a scramble in the box fell to Mike Kayley on the edge of TK’s box to thrash past the keeper. A quick fire double after that from Nathan Postill saw Bradfords comfortable at 5-1 but not relenting.

Bradfords longest serving player Owen Gray joined the action and placed a well finished goal to the bottom corner before resident goal scorer Jack Gilgrist added to what was turning into a rout for Great Bradfords FC! Not content with Jack challenging his goal tally Nathan Postill broke through the back line again for his hatrick goal before setting the cherry on the cake with a fourth for him!

At 9-1 the game was over and some pressure from a resilient TK Eagles saw a dry spell for GBFC before changes made on the side. The reintroduction of Leon Griffin saw a quick intent to score seeing his second of the day. An unfortunate penalty for TK Eagles saw them take a consolation before the end of the day with the game all but done at 10-2. The final honours of the day fell to Jack Gilgrist to see Bradfords past that 10 to 11-2.

An incredible final 45 minutes for the Red and Black army at Thurstable school, credit where it is due to a resilient TK Eagles who didn’t give up and fought throughout the match! Best of luck for the season guys!
