Under 13 Saints

About the Team!

Our Under 13 Saints are currently Great Bradfords longest serving team having been with the club since they were Under 7’s now entering their 7th year. In that time the team have flown high moving initially from Division 6 to Division 3 and battling well. Now at fully competitive level the team are looking to build on their hard work of previous seasons as they enter the 11-a-side pitch for the first time.

Latest Team Report

Great Bradfords Saints 2

Hatfield Peverel Harriers 3

A day for the Saints where they can feel a little hard done by and robbed of a point. Pitch conditions were poor but that is no excuse as the Saints tried to play the football they have become so accustom to and working hard with.

A sloppy first half but solid defensive display as necessary from the Saints saw us looking like ending the half 0-0 however an edge of the box punt and a slip saw us lose the cleansheet on the half time whistle.

The Saints rejuvenated and wanting to fight for the match came out ready in the second half with Brooklyn replying to the first half ending very quickly with his very own power shot to get us level. The Saints spent a large period in the Harriers half peppering the goal but unable to break past their very strong goalkeeper.

A breakway and melee in the Saints box slipping and sliding all over from both sides saw the Saints back against it as a harriers toe got to the ball to slot home against the run of play. The Saints kept heads screwed on and worked hard again pressing Harriers and deserving rewards but lacking the clinical edge. Another breakway saw the Harriers get themslves a two goal cushion and the Saints looking flustered.

Corner after corner and free kick after free kick and the Saints finally got their reward as Brooklyn netted his second straight from the corner – work in training paid off. The Saints were ready and looked as though an equaliser was ready which was definitely the least they deserved but time was not on our side as the whistle signalled full time immediately after the reset.

A bad day in terms of results for the Saints but we can and will improve – we need to be clinical and then we will be a team to be feared more so than we are.

Kits and Sponsors

Lucky Lucky Lads!

The Under 13 Saints are very lucky to have the support of two incredible sponsors. It is down to the generosity of these two companies that the Saints look smart every week in the Red and Black stripes our founder coined for the club and the newer Blue and Black stripes of the away strip championed by our chair lady. We thank Phil Bibby Ltd and WR Autos for their generous donations and unwaivering support over the last 7 years.
